I well understand how such an experience can bring a family closer together and to the Lord, and also can help smooth over and heal past hurts. This happened in our family two years ago when my BIL was diagnosed with leukemia. Praise God he is now in remission and doing well! I pray it will be the same for your son.

You might be interested in seeing the prayer thread I started for him when he was diagnosed. Then a year ago we had another scare when his blood test came back positive for the second time, but see the update in post 211. Hope it encourages your faith and hope in what God can do.

Here's the thread: Prayer request for Daddy of 5

Thank all of you so much for your concern and prayers for someone who you don't even know. This is proof to me that those of us who know our great Savior and Lord are truly one family in Christ wherever we happen to be located.

TruthSetsUFree, I am typing this with tears on my cheeks after reading your thread and the updates concerning your BIL. His healing gives me even more confidence that my son's disease will be cured, and that he will soon return to his God-given role as father, husband, and breadwinner in good health. I realize that he, and of course all of us, are facing a rocky road for a period of time as he is just now beginning the series of chemotherapy treatments, but your BIL's experience is inspirational and gives us more confidence that Ken will beat this disease by the grace and mercy of our Father in heaven. He felt well enough today to go fishing with me and his kids, and we all just finished a dinner of 10 rainbow trout. It's funny how little things like that which we once took for granted seem so precious now.

The oncologists say that he may be able to get off chemo within 6 months if everything goes well. A PET scan last week showed that the cancer is confined to one lymph node in his neck and apparently has not spread. Thanks to God that it was caught in time to prevent it spreading to other organs.

Again, many thinks to all who have been so kind and gracious as to pray for us, I hope to see you all and thank you face to face one day when we are all gathered around the Father's throne. That's all I can say for now, the monitor screen is getting too blurry to read.
