Well, perhaps the headline is slightly misleading. Actually, only six Marines will be invading Corona. And perhaps invasion isn't quite the right term.
After the nightmare of the back stabbing John Murtha, we needed some good news about Camp Pendleton. We have some. At my Kiwanis club annual charity golf tournament on Monday, August 13, will be welcoming six Marines from Camp Pendleton. We got sponsors for them and will be honored to have them join us.
When I called Camp Pendleton to make the invite, they shuffled me to a few people as always happens in a large organization. When the Sgt. Major was finally given the info, he got on it and did what a Sgt. Major is supposed to do - he assigned the task to a gunnery Sgt.
We just got the news today of the six who will be joining us. There is, however, one slight area of disappointment. I asked the gunnery Sgt. if they could arrive in a HumVee with a 50-calibre machine gun mounted on the roof. Although he liked the idea and told me it would probably make traffic get out of the way, it just won't happen.

Welcome to Marine Corps Base Camp Joseph H. Pendleton, the nation's busiest military base.
Located 38 miles north of downtown San Diego, Camp Pendleton covers over 125,000 acres and approximately 200 square miles of terrain. The stretch of shoreline along the base-- 17½ miles -- is the largest undeveloped portion of coastal area left in Southern California.
Camp Pendleton provides training facilities for many active-duty and reserve Marines, Army and Navy units, as well as national, state and local agencies. Over 60,000 military and civilian personnel work aboard the base every day.
The base is the home of I Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Logistics Group and many tenant units, including elements of Marine Aircraft Group 39 and Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA).
Pendleton Marines are environmentally conscientious as they share the land with nearly 400 species of mammals and birds. The protection of several endangered species is carefully considered when planning for training.
A wide variety of recreational facilities and activities are available on base. Combine these with the unlimited number of local points of interest, to make your tour here a pleasant and memorable one.
That is so nice of you, Doug.
It’s really time to think of running those whose obvious anti-american ideas go. That includes scumbag Murtha and Queen B Pelosi. They do not need to be in office.
They are no longer in the country so please keep them in your prayers.
Thank you, Doug, that’s wonderful of you guys to do that. :)
