If he had renounced Islam, there would be a Fatwah pronounced on him and death would be certain.

According to Islamic law, if you’re a child and you’re more or less forced by your parents to leave Islam , you are not considered an apostate becauase you didn’t know what you were doing time nor could appreciate the consequences.
