It wasn't easy sitting there on August 9, 2007 and listening to so many lies stated by the moderator and four panelists on the topic "What's bad about abortion?" but I did. I even saw a real live female abortionists who told us that "she loves life and loves children" - which is like loving trees but cutting them down. The lady made that statement with no sense of irony and a silly grin on her face.

The panel members were: Vicki Saporta of the National Abortion Federation (Vicki has devoted her life to the pursuit of dead babies as long as I can remember, having once been the Director of NARAL); Donna Crane, Director of NARAL Pro-Choice America, who told us that if Roe were overturned IT WOULD NOT GO BACK TO THE STATES (a lie, of course); Kirsten Moore, CEO of Reproductive Health Technologies Project, who, when asked by a member of Columbia University's Republican Club whether it would be ok for a woman to abort a baby who carried a brown eyed gene, answered that "while she personally would not own a slave, she had no problem if you did"; and the vapid Ann Furedi, CEO of British Pregnancy Advisory Services, who flew to NYC from England to tell us that the British abortion rate has skyrocketed and that, in her humble opinion, this was a "good thing because it means that more people are having sex". That commented elicited giggles from the trampy pro abortion young women and the old lady hippies in the audience. One old lady told us that "abortion is good for women because child birth is so much more dangerous" - except that after childbirth you get to hug your beautiful infant while after an abortion, the baby becomes "medical waste".

Saporta repeated the usual lies, long debunked, about the number of women who have died in the USA from illegal abortions. Of course, she did not let the facts get in the way of the truth. She did not bother to mention the women who have died in LEGAL ABORTIONS at Planned Parenthood facilities. She made light of post abortion syndrome and quoted from a report from Congressman Henry Waxman, one of the dumbest members of congress, to the effect that "87% of crisis pregnancy centers" give medically incorrect information to clients. No mention of the misinformation given by Planned Parenthood to its clients. Not everybody who wears a white coat is a medic! A bald guy in the audience from Planned Parenthood made the usual dopey remark about how he wished that "more pro lifers would oppose the death penalty" (which many do, by the way). Of course, he conveniently forgets that there are very few executions in the USA but lots and lots of abortions - over 46,000,000 I believe, since Roe.

The fact that this panel went ballistic on crisis pregnancy centers and post abortion syndrome leads me to believe that we have had some measure of success against the lies of the abortion industry. There were several of us pro lifers in the audience. A wonderful young man said "You did not mention God, or fathers or babies" - and you know they won't!

I would urge other pro lifers to attend these biased discussions to let the participants know that even in NYC we are not all pro abortion.

It takes a real serenity of spirit to be able to listen to these people without taking some action against them. I congratulate you for being able to do it.

Leftists are so used to lying that when they lie to themselves they never suspect a thing.

It wasn’t easy. A guy who later told me, to my disgust, that he is “pro choice” commented to Crane: “You keep saying that abortion has been around forever; that is not an argument”. It is like saying “drunk driving has been around forever - let’s legalize it”. So why is this guy “pro choice”? I hope he starts to think about his view.

The statistics about “women who have died in illegal abortions” were debunked a long time ago. Dr. Nathanson has admitted that he made up numbers. The advent of antibiotics changed that. It was interesting that Crane from NARAL mentioned that Catholic Portugal has legalized abortion and that the big argument for legalization was “do you want to live in a MODERN LIBERAL SOCIETY OR NOT?” I thought that INFANTICIDE was an ancient, reprehensible custom but apparently it isn’t! Crane proved that NARAL wishes to interefere in foreign policy also.

" which is like loving trees but cutting them down"

You might have skipped this analogy. I am a forester. I love trees. I also cut them down. Every day. A tree is not a baby. I also like wildlife and am a hunter. Do you think hunters hate deer, ducks, mountain goats or whatever? Not at all. Again, they are not babies.

I don't see how you managed to sit through this awful session. I could not have done it. My wife is one of the founders of our local Carenet Pregnancy Center and we have both been active supporters since its inception about 15 years ago. We're on the same side of this issue as you are. I just wish you hadn't chosen the analogy that you did.

I was going to comment on the same thing, but in a different way:

You can love trees and cut them and then make the trees into something that you'll love just as much if not more.

You can't say that for abortions.

Rush Limbaugh’s Undeniable Truth

#8. The most beautiful thing about a tree is what you do with it after you cut it down.

I’m afraid that your analogy defeats the purpose of your post.

I thought about “love houses but like to set them on fire” - I had several analogies. What kept me going that night was the fact that there were, to my surprise, several pro lifers in the audience. In fact, two of them were turned down at the door and were told that “there was no more room” but don’t believe it - they figured out what they were before they barred them. People were, after all, standing in the back. I wish you and your wife much success. The pro aborts DESPISE the crisis pregnancy centers.

I hope you had a Pro-Life Survival Kit on hand for the death fest: Aspirin, a barf bag, and some suction machines to perform post-birth abortions on those folks. Too bad their mothers didn’t presciently practice what the daughters and sons are now preaching.

I believe that abortionist loves babies - to pieces. The same way the jihadis love Israelis and Americans.

So many liars in such a small space! I could write a book on the experience. And that they had the gall to state that “they are not extremists” is the one that cracks me up after having admitted that they would have no problem were you to abort a baby because of the brown eyed gene! Brown eyed people beware - these broads will come after you one day! They are ideologues to the nth degree - they do not care about women or children.

You have courage and dedication to sit through this cesspool of satanic idolatry.

No doubt you had friends covering you in prayer as you listened to these hideous lies.

I remember how heartbroken Dr.James Dobson was during the 80's when Reagan appointed him to listen & advice on a committee (in his capacity of 'children & family psychologist) against pornography.

What he heard/saw/experienced was devastating.

I don’t even know where to begin on which was the biggest lie of the night. Competitors: the abortionist who stated that “she loves children”; Vicki Saporta on the number of “back alley abortions” (since she is the President and CEO of the National Abortion Federation she has a VESTED INTEREST in keeping legalized abortions going); Ms. Crane: “if Roe were overturned, it would NOT go back to the states”; or Furedi who stated that it was “GOOD that the abortion rate had skyrocked in Great Britain”. Plus the usual gaggle of old hags/feminazis with their assorted buttons. Another good one: the HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT who asked what we can do to “destimatize discussing sex in public”. I didn’t know it had a stigma. Does this girl watch tv? So many stupid people in one room!

Do we know how many women have died after these 46 million legal abortions?

(That’s a lot of legal citizens (American taxpayers) who would have postponed the Social Security disaster now coming. And would have provided the jobs now being left unfilled by citizens.)

Nobody touched on the women who have died or been maimed in LEGAL abortions. Many deaths are not REPORTED TO THE CDC. Plus, I suspect that private doctors who “discretely” perform abortions, don’t report their statistics. Recently an abotion mill was temporarily shut down in Englewood, New Jersey for health code violations after a woman went int a coma. About a decade ago 60 Minutes, not exactly a conservative show, did a segment on abortion clinic health violations - which NARAL and Planned Parenthood continue to deny exist even when women die. Yes, they have aborted people who could have paid in the social security system. There was no mention of Holly Patterson, who died in California, after using RU-486; or the young women in New York City, all 18 to 20 years old, who died from the “birth control patch”. They don’t care. They will argue that it is “safer than childbirth”.

Several women have died at Tiller the Killer’s mill (or in hotel rooms or on their way to the hospital) including a mentally retarded girl.

OK.....

Continuing that line of thought: Just how many women do they claim “die during childbirth” here in the US? I’ve never heard of any at any local Atlanta-area hospital - though I doubt the hospitals want to publicize that number either.

Deepest respect for your sitting through this.
It would have been more than I could stomach.

How will we know the extent of their lies unless we witness first hand.
Thanks for doing the hard job.

I have been involved with pro-life since 1988....
I know the minefields they set to keep us off balance.

Again, God bless you.

They gave no statistics AT ALL. One old bat sitting in the audience had the audacity to state that “abortion is better for women’s health than childbirth because it is less dangerous”. She said this with a smile on her face. I guess all those dead babies and broken hearts make her happy. No statistics at all.
