Being from MT, I visited MA only once back in the 60s. Hokey subways vs NY’s. Squirrly old world boston streets. I would think that by now the people of MA have had enough of the tax and spend MA-dem system. That’s like saying you are a room temp IQ dummie and someone else has to run your life for you.

That’s probably why they voted in Romney as a firewall from the eternal LUST for other people’s money by the MA legislators/sens/reps. So, is there any real hope for taxachussetts as a viable state in the union, or will it always be a liberal backwater?

You don’t fully understand how Massachusetts politics work. The Democratic Party has been deeply embedded here in Massachusetts since the 1940’s. The Republican Party of Massachusetts has been profoundly weak since the 1940’s. If it wasn’t for Michael Dukakis disappointing the majority of state voters by badly screwing things up while he was Governor, the Republicans wouldn’t of even held onto the Governor/Lt. Governor seats from 1990 to 2006. The U.S. House Banking Scandal also help elect more Republicans to a variety of political offices than usual in Massachusetts, but it didn’t last long. In Massachusetts, the majority of money, support and organization efforts has been with the Democratic Party only. Many generations of people in Massachusetts are brought up believing that they should never, ever vote for Republicans at any level for any reason, and many of them go through their whole lives voting only for Democrats. All of the negative things that are said about Republicans at every political level are just believed to be the truth. This is Massachusetts.

This should be interesting. Philosophical question: If this guy turns out to be a RINO on some conservative issues should Massachusetts conservatives support him anyway just to rid themselves of Kerry? Or should they say what’s the difference and vote for someone who won’t win?

Well, RINO means different things in different parts of the country.

Trent Lott is a RINO to some Republicans, but he doesn't count as such in the Northeast.

I'd say whatever Massachusetts conservatives are left should vote for the guy.

Republicans are outvoted 34-5 in the State Senate and 140-19 in the State House (1 vacancy in each), so they need all the help they can get.

Otherwise they may get less votes than the Greens and lose the second place on the ballot.

But you can't go broke underestimating the Massachusetts electorate.

I believe that’s about what the electorate of MA is made up of. I believe that Kerry is in trouble. He’s not an icon like Kennedy (ugh). I did hear this fellow on the radio a few days ago and liked what I heard.

I'm stunned... if the GOP can knock off John F*ckin' in Massachusetts, it would send shock waves through the 'Rat establishment. I'm skeptical but nothing would give me more pleasure than to see the French Boy sent packing.

I’ve already been in touch with Mr. Beatty. I will support his campaign fully.

He already lost once. Kerry is damaged goods. He's been around since 1984 in the U.S Senate. After a lifetime, people are tired of him. The man is no legend like The Swimmer who comes from a political dynasty.

Turning out Kerry for any Republican would have huge symbolic significance, even nationally.

Whoa...Lotsa surprising headlines on FR recently...Massachussetts voters might ditch John Kerry, illegal immigration at the Mexican border recently dropped sharply, and the UN is willing to work with the Iraqis with their humanitarian crises. Am I sitting in a beam of light?

You know, years ago Mark White, Texas dem-candidate for governor ran the same ad on the utility rate issue against clemens(R-TX)over and over and over and....after 10,000 times you knew it by heart. He knew he had him NAILED on that one issue(forget all the other stealth dem programs). And so he WON because he kept pounding that stake into the vampire’s heart. Ironically I’m going in for bypass surgery next week...

So all Beatty has to do is the same thing : over and over and over and....”Taxed to death in taxachussetts means someone ELSE runs your life, you’re too stupid to spend your own money, holier-than-thou liberals have to do it for you”.

Mark White showed how you do it : pound the stake into the vampire’s heart over and over and over and over and over and over and over and....pound, pound, POUND!

I hate to rain on everybody's parade, but Audie Murphy will win easily. There’s too many moonbats in this state to vote for a real war hero. He might have a chance for congress in Lynch’s district, but he has no chance statewide.

I’m from the “anybody but Kerry crowd.”

Unfortunately, my neighbors are largely suffering from some unnamed mental disorder.
