Despite a clear liberal political track record on social issues that puts him on the wrong side of the influential conservative base of the Repubican Party, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani continues to lead the pack of GOP presidential hopefuls. Former Tennessee Republican senator Fred Thompson who is yet to officially declare his candidacy has been giving Giuliani a good run for his money, but the former New York mayor according to some polls is still managing to hold off the Thompson challenge . He has been the target of sustained attacks from both the left and the right, and yet as noted by Matthew Continetti of the Weekly Standard, Giuliani is standing and advancing boldly toward victory at the head of the pack when by many expectations he should be trudging toward defeat at the backend of the race.

Rooty a sanctuary city conservative.
Finally, recent poll data sheds some light on the question of how Giuliani's stance on abortion will play among Republican primary voters. Supporters and opponents alike have something to seize upon. On the one hand,"Barely four-in-ten (41%) Republican voters, including independents who lean Republican, can identify Giuliani as the GOP candidate who supports a woman's right to choose when it comes to abortion, while the rest either incorrectly named another GOP candidate (12%) or say they do not know (47%)."
Fact is, Rooty has lost support since the beginning of the summer. During that time Fred Thompson has gained support among conservatives. This is not by coincidence. Many conservatives have seen Rooty`s liberal record and they don’t want any part of him.
"Rudy supporter!"
He’s an out and out liberal.
Atually, Reagan Man, you got to really read the piece to know that I’m not rooting for Rudy -— nor for Thompson either.
I can’t take a position for Thompson until he declares his intentions and clearly explains his positions on issues such as abortion.
