Karl Rove to quit
Yahoo! News ^ | 8/13/2007

Karl Rove, a political adviser to President George W. Bush and a lightning rod for anger among Democrats, will leave the White House at the end of this month, Rove told the Wall Street Journal.

"I just think it's time," Rove said in an interview with the newspaper published on Monday.

"There's always something that can keep you here, and as much as I'd like to be here, I've got to do this for the sake of my family."

Rove could not stay away from the ‘08 election if he wanted to... and he does not want to. He may do his thing in a non-public way, or he may be upfront... but he will be active in the ‘08 election.

The “ports deal” was a CIA front to get our agents into 137 ports in which we have little intel capability. The story appeared on Foxnews and in the NY Times. You need to drop that mantra. Immigration sucked and Miers was not my choice either... but the ports deal was something other than what it appeared.

Have you learned nothing!

WHY would the multiple posters here want him running anyone's campaign?

Do we not think he's the architect of the amnesty fiasco?

Is this really what we want for our government?

I don't.

This clinches it...

Bush is not planning to seek re-election in 2008.

If Carl Rove was the chief grey eminence who advised the President in the ways he should go, I'm glad he's gone.

This lovable little fuzzball captured the imaginations of freepers here, but analytically speaking a conservative he was not.

He continually misread the hearts and souls of mainstream American folks in major issues, much to our detriment.

Rove wasn’t alone in that misreading either. Part of Potomac Fever syndrome perhaps, unfortunately.

As hard as Holy George fought for the amnesty bill, I cannot believe it was anyone’s idea but his. And, don’t forget, he IS the one with the mexican nanny. Don’t try to push Holy George’s extremely poor decisions and persuasions on someone else.

Leni, I now have a more cynical 'take' on this than your representation.

I think he has a cunningly intelligent Machiavellian personality and read & used our hearts & souls quite well for his nefarious purposes.

The 'base' helped get George W. over the top in the elections...(Rove himself praised 'my county' for its heroic effort)

He used us and discarded us...

We were no longer of worth when we disagreed vehemently with the push for amnesty.

I....who adored him as much as any Freeper....

...will not miss him at all.

If I find out he's the architect of someone else running for President, I will immediaely erase him from my list of potentials.

Just wait. The MSM will have this spun up in no time as Rove leaving being because the Dems drove him out, which is preposterous.

Agree .....he may as well been the speaker at an Al Qaeda Convention as to appear at that La Raza event ........his biggest foookup of his career IMHO. I thought the guy was too smart to do something like that.
