Either this is fallout from Amnesty, or he's preparing to join a candidate for 2008. Actually, fallout from that dancing he did at the Correspondent's Dinner. (shudder)

Any current candidate for the Rep nomination would be nuts to hire Rove. He is damaged goods.

Rove batted 1000 with regard to George W Bush, winning every election Rove managed.
Elian Conzalez won the election for Bush in 2000
The Swift Boat Veterans won it for him in 2004 ( Rove almost blew it in 2004 with Bush's pathetic performance in the first debate)

With a strong economy and national security at stake, GWB beat a traitorous gigolo with no personality by a few percentage points. That is NOT something to be proud of...and Rove is partly to blame.
And Rove’s immigration ideas helped take down the GOP in 06, and threaten it in 08. This is also not a good thing.

I don't. The man has pig-headedly driven the Republican Party out of power and into complete disarray.

The breathless reportage this morning continues the lie that Rove leaked Valery Plame’s name. Over and Over on CBS radio. Un f’n believable.
To: Guenevere
same. The guy is a rino. After all, who advised Bush to put Martinez in as RNC chair ?

“to quit”
Ya think Yahoonews is a BIT ALOT OF BIAS in the spin of this?
Quit implies he is quitting a race or contest. Quit as in giving up. This is an editor celebrating.
This is 100% stupid. the democrats should be upset because Rove is now free to answer the phone and consult with any campaign even if he is not officially on board.

I don't. The man has pig-headedly driven the Republican Party out of power and into complete disarray. He has set this country up for a Hillary take over. H.W. and Bill will celebrate together the day she wins. Or maybe privately keeping those sneaky grins to themselves.

( Rove almost blew it in 2004 with Bush's pathetic performance in the first debate)Too funny---Isn't this what the dems have been saying for 8 years? Bush has no thoughts of his own, everything was orchestrated by Karl Rove--Ridiculous.

If it had gone through it would have been a stroke of genius. The CIA needs a good purging, but our Base needs some reeducation too!

I notice (from your tag line) you can really pick presidential winners.
Admit it folks. Karl Rove is human just like all of us here. He has warts and all. Karl wants out of the WH and there is no hold on him to stay or go.

“I’ve got to do this for the sake of my family.”
Oh give me a break. People in Rove’s type of position never put family first. Third or fourth, maybe.
To: Guenevere
Indeed, Rove is a decent guy but no conservative and no (successful) visionary.
He's the "give'm-money (Medicare) and give'm-Z1 visas so they'll vote for us" guy. Goodbye and good riddance.
