"Quietly"? Nah, but this is too little too late on their part. The Democrat party know that her negatives broke 50 years ago and are stuck there - they are a victim of their own Machine.

Ive never understood the idea that the Hillary Juggernaut was unstoppable. Its possible that her candidacy will be disaster of monumental proportions for the Dems.

This guy has apparently never heard of “broken glass” Republicans. You know, the ones who would leave their own death beds and crawl across broken glass to vote against She-Who-Must-Not-Named.

The Rodent operatives are overacting to having Hillary at the top of the ticket. Whatever negative coattails she has will be offset by the anti-GOP sentiment right now. Thus the political climate in 2008 could be a wash with neither party having a big advantage over another.

Whatever they think, the Democrats are stuck with Hillary Clinton, the “default nominee.” I’m also inclined to believe that Barack will be the “default VP nominee,” unless he absolutely refuses. For the Democrats to try to choose otherwise would lead to a special interest revolt.

Actually, I think all three Dem front-runners have serious weaknesses. It’s about the only thing we have going for us in 2008, which otherwise should be a Dem year.

Unlike Crooks, most Democratic leaders agreed to talk frankly about Clinton's political coattails only if they remained anonymous, fearing reprisals from the New York senator's campaign. They all expressed admiration for Clinton... Curiously, all of the Democrat leaders with the exception of Crooks had the same thing to say:
"Hillary Clinton is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."
When asked to elaborate, they merely repeated the sentence...
