This pretty much breaks along the following lines:

Unhappy:
teachers
state workers’ unions
enviros
leftist creeps
welfare mooches (which is pretty much all welfare recipients)
trial lawyers

Happy:
People who work hard for a living
Conservatives (which is the same as the latter)

In light of this list I hope the GOP stalls this budget forever, with exceptions for the Cal Guard, prison guards and other public safety units. Otherwise, I’m all for defunding the welfare state known as the Peoples’ Republic of California.

Good article. I'll make one correction to the always-partisan Fleishman account:

"Such Chicken Little fear-mongering from the far left and Governor Schwarzenegger obscures the main issue and guarantees that more tax dollars will be wasted fighting phantoms instead of providing direct benefits to Californians. "
