Meanwhile, Hurricane Flossie continues to track south of the island.

Pretty amazing, with a hurricane headed that way too.
Prayers up for Hawaiians.

All you need now is a big volcano eruption. It will be the grand slam of natural disasters.

A 5.4 shouldn’t have done much damage.
As long as it isn't a precursor of things to come...

Schools cancelled tomorrow, and then the earthquake hits. Our sins must be Biblical!

Did Karl Rove fire up both the weather and the hurricain machines one last time before leaving the White House to send a message to Hawaii to change their DemocRAT ways? :-)

Mom fell so I was on just a visit, but now I'm workin' rehab central, here.
All the weather reports and concerns are mainly for the Big Island and some for Maui.
Oahu should only get rain and some gusts of wind. They have planes flying into (Hurricane Hunters) the storm every so many hours to update the weather people here. Everyone seems pretty prepared....or just goin' with the flow. Hope it's not the latter.

And a hurricane is heading in their direction, too. (the local forecaster had it missing the main islands by a little—relatively—bit).

wildfires are a common occurrence with the ongoing drought and some ahole firebugs that have been plaguing the north side of the Island ...tsunamis’ : we sweat them every time there is anything over 6.0 in the Aleutians , the northern Japan islands ,or the south pacific , all of which have been real active lately , but no Pacific tsunamis
The worst we ever got came from Chile I believe.

Maybe all the dust vibrated off of your lanai? Egads. Take care out there!

We got a massive wildfire near my home right now, in Waialua — so I guess we’re 1-2 on that! (i REALLY hope no tsunami, since I”m in a flood zone!)
