Conservatives Urged to Vote for Their Favorite RINO By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Senior Editor August 14, 2007

(CNSNews.com) - Conservatives across the country are invited to cast votes for Republican politicians most deserving of a "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) award.

"After losing Congress in the 2006 election, and with the Party possibly facing the loss of the White House in 2008, conservatives are less than enthusiastic about their representatives and potential presidential candidates in the upcoming elections," said Daniel Gilbert, a North Carolina businessman who is inviting conservatives to cast votes on his "We the People Gilbert for President" website.

Gilbert, who describes himself as an "ordinary American just like you," says he is running for the Republican presidential nomination.

"Fed up with excessive spending, amnesty for illegal aliens, and weak positions on family values and abortion, conservatives across the country are frustrated that their voices have fallen on deaf ears. Until now," said a news release announcing the Top RINO awards.

Gilbert is urging conservatives to vote for Republicans who have abandoned certain core beliefs of conservatism.

"Unable to check a "You Blew It" box at the voting booth, frustrated conservatives can now simply click on their favorite RINO to cast their vote, sending a message to top Republicans that the RINO is now an endangered species," he said. "These core conservative issues are what separate the elephant from the rhino; that is, true Conservatives from liberal Republicans."

I like this guy. Too bad he's not visible enough to get elected President.

Not at all. He stood up on the surge, and recently found his veto pen (on stem cells, Iraq, and soon to be excessive Democrat spending). GWB is wayward on some things but not spineless.

Gotta hand it to Lindsey “We’ll shut the bigots up” Graham for this years MVR (most valuable RINO), with Chuck Hagel as runner up, and Specter a lifetime RINO achievement award.

Olympia Snow of Maine ... a RINO going back to, and during, the Clinton era.

Favorite + RINO? Inappropriate use of the adjective "favorite". Having said that...

Mitt Romney

If a liberal started talking conservative tomorrow, would you buy his act? Mitt is like a bad social science experiment.

Republicans: “We are all RINOs now”.

Glad I’m not registered any longer. I can now vote for a conservative on the ballot. Any conservative will do. I don’t want to waste my vote on someone I don’t agree with.

There NO such thing as a LIBERAL Republican. That's simply a camouflaged DEMOCRAT.
