I am going to try to stay optimistic. I am encouraged that federal immigration agents are blasting the plan. And from reports I have read, Bush is now going to address this crisis in the right way, IMO, by fining employers heavily. I am not necessarily against a border fence, but I think if we make it extremely difficult for an illegal to get a job, financially risky for a business to knowingly employ one, and illegal to provide taxpayer funded services (like K-12 education), the problem would be greatly reduced”

I agree. A huge part of the solution is cutting off their access to resources and services in this country. Its like cleaning up your kitchen to solve a roach problem.
