STUART, Fla. – A South Florida businessman who claims he's being evicted from his office space because he does not speak Spanish says he's now getting help from a high-profile lawyer known for winning megamillion-dollar judgments.

Attorney Willie Gary has decided to take the case of Tom McKenna on a contingency basis, WND has learned.

McKenna, 51, says he still faces a move-out date of Aug. 31 from his location where he's run Seacoast Water Care for the past seven years, and doubts he can stay there.

"I don't think I've got any choice [but to move]," he told WND. "[The landlord] wants to make my life a living hell."

Enter Gary, a local legend who has gone from a migrant worker sharing a shack with his ten siblings to a multimillionaire and chairman of the Black Family Channel.

And so begins the debate: What is more important, the landlord’s property rights, or the battle against Spanish?

Personally, I’m on the landlord’s side, even though I think he’s a doofus.

Do you think a landlord would be allowed to demand business be English only?

If the situation was reversed, and the landlord was evicting a tenant for conducting business primarily in Spanish, the landlord would lose his building in the resulting civil rights lawsuit

Therefore, while I would normally be on the landlord's side, I'm more in favor of seeing the Left hoisted up on their own petard. The laws need to either be applied equally in all directions, or abolished. I'm in favor of their being abolished, but while they are on the books, they need to be equally applicable in all directions
