Cheerleaders Raise Morale of One Soldier

Chris and the Ladies from St Henry High School

Imagine this scenario:

1.  It is the last night of your two week leave back in the real world (USA).
2.  Your 2 week leave follows 7 months in one of the worst parts of Iraq.
3.  Tomorrow, you fly from Indianapolis to Atlanta.  There you will board a military charter back to four more months in Iraq.
4.  While in your hotel room, waiting on tomorrow to come, your phone rings.  Your buddy in Florida is calling to tell you that all units, currently in Iraq, are being extended another three months.  You now have seven months left; not the four you were mentally preparing for.
5.  The next morning you tell your parents.  No one is very happy.  As they say in the Army, morale sucks.
6.  You say goodbye and board the plane.  You are all alone and heading back to Iraq.
7.  You land in Atlanta and start heading toward the US Army sign in area.  Suddenly you hear a voice, "Hey, Army guy."  You turn and a group of beautiful women approach you.  You are asked, "Can we take a photo with you?"  "Sure!" you answer.  Suddenly you have four "babes" to your left and another four to your right.
8.  As pictures are taken, you can't help yourself.  You start smiling.  After they leave, you call your Mom and some friends to relate this morale boosting incident.  God has just used a group of young women to turn your attitude around.  Life is suddenly good again.

Thanks to the Lady Redskin Cheerleaders from St. Henry High School in St Henry, Ohio.

This happened to my son in April. When he called his Mom, she asked if he got an address or phone number so we could get a copy of the pictures. He replied that he was so thunder-struck that he forgot to get one.

The next day, I remembered that I had seen a young woman with a sweatshirt that had "St. Henry" on it at the airport. Mom found St Henry High School with a web search and I made some calls. The school secretary, Deb, tracked down the photo.

Since then several cheerleader mothers and the cheerleaders have sent him a care package, several letters, and three mothers are corresponding with his Mom.

As happy as I am for this soldier... This thread is useless without pictures. ;-)

But really, all joking aside. This nation isn’t as doomed as we sometimes think it may be. The MSM is really getting on my nerves.

Thank you for sharing! Prayers for your son’s safety.

And thanks to you and your wife for raising two fine sons!

P.S. That is my biggest goal in life with my two boys...to raise them to be fine men.

Truly a great story - and kudos to all involved who helped raise this soldier’s morale. We, as a nation, do far, far to little to say “Thank you” to those who put their lives, family and careers on the line for our benefit.

That being said, I can stretch my imagination to the limits and come up with a variant to step 7 that would raise morale even higher. I know, I’m going to get flamed...but I had to say it.
