“Running to the country is no solution. That’s where the trailer parks are.”

James! James Carvile - is that you?

Sorry, B-Chan, but you did remind me of Carvile’s vile “drag a $50 bill through a trailer park -”. For all the “trailer park” population’s lacks, an awareness of teh Constitution is more frequent there than in Libroid Big Sh*tty populations.

“In a city you’ve got neighbors to cover the other end of the block if everything goes to hell”.

Respectfully, I must call Bravo Sierra on that whopper. It is well known that your theory was tried in NOLA and failed .

What part of the NOLA debacle do you have difficulty understanding?

“In an isolated country house, on the other hand, you are nothing but a big fat target”.

In an isolated country house, on the other hand, you are nothing but a big fat WELL ARMED & SUPPLIED target.

I fixed your thought for you.

PS If you really are a monarchist, doesn’t the Constitutional orientation of FR become a problem to you? After all, FReepers like being citizens, and your tag line argues that you prefer being a subject.

All Sovereigns are really Monarchs. Self-governed, etc. We dumped governors a couple of hundred years ago. What we have is a group of friends, neighbors, and relatives who signed a contract with us to protect our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That's why we pay taxes.

Martial law is law and order by us martials to prevent chaos in the neighborhoods and to reign in a gummint that might go bonkers on us if the going gets rough.

Yes, we will dis-arm them if they can't be trusted.
