Rome city police have made an arrest in the murder of a prominent Rome Woman who was brutally murdered this past Saturday at her home in South Rome.
45 year old Murali Mohan Surapaneni of Fountain Square address in Rome was arrested late Friday and charged with felony murder in the death of 49 year old Phyllis Wright-Davis.
Davis was killed in her home after sources say she rejected the suspects advances.
Surapaneni is a native of India and was employed in Floyd County by Murali Carpets.
Wright-Davis was found by her brother in her bed with multiple stab wounds to her body.
Surapaneni was arrested and taken to Floyd Medical Center and then to the Floyd County jail where he remains on Felony murder charges.

Suspect arrested in a motel? Is it standard procedure for a trip to the Med Center prior to the jail, or does that indicate something?
