FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

Taking a survey of uninformed opinion and then reporting it as fact is stunningly stupid.

Unfortunately, this is called voting.

“Unfortunately, this is called voting.”

Voting is asking the question, “Who do you choose for this political office?” Most everybody who votes is, in fact, quite certain who they want to vote for and the results represent the full population of people who voted. The results also represent accurately what is going to happen. The poll in question here represents an unscientific sample of self-selecting, uninformed voters. The key word is sample. The voters are not a sample. They are 100% of the voters. I suppose a couple percent are so damned dumb that they can’t fill out the ballot, but I’m not counting them.

I agree 100% that many of them are poorly informed.

What impressed me is that no one bothered to register "no opinion" as usually there are at least a few vote "no opinion". I always wonder why bother to vote "no opinion"?

I found it very odd that no one posted a "no opinion".. I've never seen a poll like that.. ever! LOL

“no one bothered to register “no opinion”
I find that “not sure” draws votes. Why anyone shows up to vote “not sure” or “no opinion” is one of those cosmic questions.

Is the surge in Iraq working?

Yes           401

No             41

No opinion   1

At least one person has no opinion. But the real results of this rather informal poll are that most people think the surge is working.
