If Ted does run he may be the first politician that the voter would know exactly where he stands on issues. Unfortunately that is a weakness in a politician.
The way to maximize the votes one gets from the center is to appear to be in favor of everyones pet project or cause.
If the majority of voters really know where you stand on substantive issues most everyone will find something substantive to dislike about you.
Very few people will respect (and vote for) someone because they respect that they actually are forth coming about their true thoughts on the issues.
Personally I think that is what lost the election for Alan Keyes, everyone knew what he stood for on nearly every issue. There was no doubt in anyones mind about where he stood on almost any sensitive issue.
Just look at the press reports after any of the so called debates recently, the candidates spend the next week on damage control if they actually said something in answer to a substantive question.
Just listen to how democraps talk about their meat and potatoes of abortion; almost all of them will say they are pro-choice but anti-abortion. All of the politicians will try to have it both ways if they can.

Nugent would make a damned interesting candidate, to say the least! From what I can recall, his philosophy is pretty libertarian/conservative. And, as everyone knows, Nugent ain’t shy about speaking his mind.
Something tells me that Dearborn, Michigan would never be the same...

Well if Ann Coulter is a “she devil” (the Breck Girl said this) Can you imagine what they would call Ted.

Well if Ann Coulter is a she devil (the Breck Girl said this) Can you imagine what they would call Ted. A she male calling Ann Coultier a she devil while running for POTUS.
Who would have thunk it?

Noooooooo! I want him for Texas governor. You have to admit that Michigan needs him much more than Texas does.
It's a toss up however where the deer hunting is better. Michigan or Texas. ; )

Michigan is losing hundreds of people a month. Young graduates, especially, are leaving the minute they get their degrees. Even blacks are leaving Detroit and going back down south. If Granholm or another Rat (assuming MI has term limits) are elected again in 2010, you can kiss the state goodbye.
To: DangerDanger
Nugent aint shy about speaking his mind. It would make for an appealing change for a "runner" to speak their mind instead of speaking political party agenda on a mundane daily basis.

He's releasing a new CD next month and is currently touring.
As I recall that is his "job", isn't it? LOL!
