The President is NOT a moral leader. I don't look to politicians for moral leadership. People who want to do that should look to their clergy.

I don't look to politicians for moral leadership. Well I do. I don't want my leader to be immoral. Cheating on people you have taken a vow to be faithful to shows me that you wouldn't hesitate to cheat on people who have elected you. I want my leaders to have strong moral character.

"The President is NOT a moral leader." True, but he sure sets the tone by example.

Yes, we need immoral or amoral leaders!

The President is NOT a moral leader. I don't look to politicians for moral leadership. People who want to do that should look to their clergy. Yes well, there is no middle ground unfortunately. One is either a moral leader or an immoral leader. Granted, the moral standards in elected officials will always be determined by the aggregate of the total electorate, so the relative morality of our leaders doesn't so much effect that of the nation as it is a reflection of the nation.

Much to the chagrin of the Democrap Party, the issue is not morality. The issue is national security in relation to Iraq, and in relation to illegal aliens.
Oh they really want it to be morality though! They wish!

The President is NOT a moral leader.
"I'm just trying to suppress my natural impulses and get back to work." -- Bill Clinton to Jim Lehrer, Jan. 21, 1998.
I don't want a President who is going to force his religious faith down our throats -- which, by your mention of the "clergy," seems to be the point you are trying to make. But the President has to BE moral at his core, and lead by example. There is no place for immorality in the Presidency.

No, but character does matter. I believed that in 2000 and I believe it today.

Like it or not, but the President 'sets the standard' for acceptable conduct in our country. Like it or not, but some people actually look to our President for leadership in other ways than domestic and foreign policy.
I don't want our President 'lowering standard' for acceptable personal conduct in our country. For example, I'm sorry, but I don't think our Oval Office (nation's highest office) should be turned into a President's PERSONAL MASSAGE PARLOR (i.e. Bill Clinton).

A clergyman’s personal morality will dictate his theology.
A politician’s personal morality will dictate his philosophy of law-making.

Wonderful...In 16 short years, conservatives have gone from character being a factor in who one votes for to it not being a factor.
But, the reason to oppose Giuliani is that he is a liberal, especially on social issues, and that does matter.
