If you think being a cop is one of privilege then become one. There are openings all over the country, and many pay a salary while a candidate is going through the academy. I’ve seen starting salaries range from $35k to $50k. That’s pretty good for an entry level job. But then let us know how it’s going after you’ve worked some 12 hour rotating shifts dealing with the worst that humanity has to offer. There’s a reason the suicide rate is so high.

. . . I'd knock his teeth through the back of his head.

Great. Illegally parked cops vs. illegally porked chops.

Re: Handicapped Parking ... the problem will only get worse as the Baby Boomers age. Make popcorn.

On another matter, I have a friend with Multiple Sclerosis who during remissions looks quite healthy while during exacerbations is quite incapacitated. Don’t judge the folks with the permits harshly unless you truly know their circumstances.

Cheers!

The one where the "officer" is in the store buying goodies, while she is parked in front of a fire hydrant was too funny. These people must absolutely cringe when Jimmy Justice shows up.

Jimmy Justice is going to get himself killed because he is far too verbally abusive and profane. Some retired NYPD woman called him an a**hole and he screamed at her “YOU’RE A C**T...C**T!!!” He may find out soon that the woman has a son on the force right now who will take serious exception to him calling his mother that most horrible of words.

That was great. She was so rattled, she forgot her purse. I must say, watching these enforcement people just break the law, and then get angry with Johnny, is bizarre.

What do they pay these city employees to break the law, and then ticket and cite others for the same thing? $3500 per month?

Cops talk about themselves like they’re F-14 test pilots risking life and limb every day. Working at a 7-Eleven, driving a taxi cab, and working construction are far more dangerous jobs. Frankly, I’m sick of hearing cops glorify their jobs as if the rest of us are just sloths that deserve to get slapped around.

Hear, hear, Bellicose.

Seems to me that fireman, EMT workers, clearly deal with more lethal work environments daily while unarmed.

Yet....I rarely see them pull people over for a fascist checkpoint, run dangerous red-lights, speed, park in a handicapped spot....but cops, I guess, are better people (except that I actually know some, and they're not!)

And why is it that Firemen and EMTs are able to save lives and property....all at under 45/55mph?

No one is supposed to be above the law especially when my tax dollars are paying them. You want to speed? Turn on your flashing lights. You want to park? Obey the signs the rest of us have too.

calling his mother that most horrible of words.

LOL. It's not the meaning, as you can call a woman any number of slang synonyms, and you'll survive.

But, oh my, say "that most horrible of words," and lookout!!

Yeah, I saw that thinly veiled threat. Charges should be pressed against that cop.

I once had to approve a check for a CHP officer at I retail store I once managed.
Reason was the address on his check didn't match his CA drivers license (CA law says when you move you must update your license). Pointing this out to him he flat looked me in the face and said "I don't have to follow the law... I just have to enforce it."

Amen to that. It is interesting how c**t has become the penultimate obscenity for women.

Or when cops put the lights on to run through an intersection so they don’t have to wait.

I was in the military for 6 years active duty and the highest I was paid was $14,000/yr, so pardon me if I don’t shed a tear for guys starting $30K.

I can’t stand people who whine about how they’re underpaid in their job, get no respect, and then stay for 20 years. It can’t be that bad or they wouldn’t do it.

I’ve given the cop on the street plenty of respect and the only thing I’ve ever gotten back after telling one “good morning, officer” is the cold move-along-before-I-crack-your-effin-skull stare. The couple of times that I’ve ever needed a cop to make a police report for a car accident or because my car was broken into, they treated me with nothing but contempt. Think I have a bad attitude? You reap what you sow, officer.

So which, if any, laws do you expect our underpaid police officers to obey?

I seriously doubt you’d do anything but pound out threats on your keyboard like you’re doing now.
