[Cindy]Sheehan launches Iraq solidarity group

Anti-war campaigner Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a US soldier who was killed in Iraq, is launching an international solidarity coalition with Iraqis.

Ms Sheehan became known as 'Peace Mom' in the US after setting up a camp outside US President George W Bush's ranch in Texas.

She has been campaigning since her son Casey was killed just five days after arriving in Iraq in 2004.

Today she met with Iraqis dealing with the refugee crisis in Jordan.

The solitary coalition's first action will be co-ordinated mass marches in the US and Iraq on 15 September, timed to the release of the Iraq progress report by multi-national forces commander General David Patraeus.

However, the White House revealed yesterday that congressional schedules could mean that Gen Patraeus will present his report on the notable date of 11 September (read that story here).

Ms Sheehan, from Vacaville in California, has been arrested at a protests outside the White House and in New York.

In December, she was convicted of trespassing when she and three other women attempted to deliver an anti-Iraq war petition to the US mission at the United Nations.

The activist has taken her campaign against the war in Iraq around the world, including to the UK and Ireland.

It’s a good way to identify those who aren’t with it.

She really misses that spotlight, doesn’t she. She can’t stay out of it for more than a week at a time.

A couple months ago, when Cindy announced she was retiring from activism to focus on being a mother to her remaining family, I felt a grudging respect for her. I should have known better. I felt she was angry and upset about losing her son, and all her craziness was just a way of dealing with that grief. I was glad she was going to try to move on with her life.

But this obviously isn’t even about her son, it’s about her being completely barking crazy. She couldn’t even keep a promise to her family for 2 months? Now she’s supposedly running against Pelosi and launching solidarity groups?! Who does this woman imagine her supporters are?

Retiring from the limelight was a smart decision, the best thing she could have done... There’s just no telling how this woman will change from day to day, except for that it will always be from crazy to even more crazy.

A Crazy Cindy “mass march” means that her usual 20-person crew of moonbats will show up.

Yep, she came back a lot sooner than I expected. Wonder who is bankrolling her?

I thought she was confined to a rubber room on heavy doses of meds.

Oh God! Just what our guys need...one more insurgent! Somebody should inform the Iraqis to put here on the terrorist list.

How does she have the time to run against Nancy Pelosi and save the world too? Who knew she had such time saving skills....

We only wish that only 20 moonbats are going to show in September. ANSWER is hosting this event, therefore they will turnout several thousands. However, since Gathering of Eagles is countering again, maybe it will discourage some of the bats from attending. Not holding my breath though.
