Screw the pickup. Either announce that you’re running or step aside. This coy act is extremely old and annoying. I was a Fred! guy, but I’m sick of this. This isn’t a game, Mr. Thompson. Run or get the hell out of the way.

He wanted people to beg him to run, and they begged. He wanted time to get a staff together, and he has. Do it, or go away.

Let me guess. You got so sick of FredT you switched to Rooty.

In politics patience is a virtue and campaigns are marathons and not sprints.

I agree with you. An old red pickup that’s rusting and falling apart? What is this nostalgia playhouse? I don’t want some old geezer who’s trotted out for one last run around the track before he’s put out to pasture. The Republican party should be about the future. This guy is about the past and some absurd longing for a return to the golden era of Reagan. Let the Democrats nominate their retread. Republicans should pick a fresh face and an energetic candidate with the desire and the determination to win and some new ideas about how we’re going to compete in the 21st century. That ain’t Fred.

I’m sick of the press who can’t figure out something important to write about so they keep coming around to this.

We have a long way to go until election day, I’m patient and an adult, I am content to wait until the right time. It is a wasted effort to get so upset about something like this. I’m not upset with Fred at all, he’s working hard, getting out and speaking and writing, and he isn’t in hiding.

Cool your jets there, pardner. There were entirely valid reasons for not running pell-mell with the rest of the pack, one of which is to put together a well planned staff and campaign.

And that’s just ONE reason.

He has said around Labor Day, what is the rush. It is a done deal, he is running. He is raising money. He is hiring campaign workers. He is making speeches.

Either announce that you’re running or step aside.

He's IN. Don't you get it?

This coy act is extremely old and annoying.

There are no games being played here. Reports are that he's going to announce shortly after Labor Day.

I was a Fred! guy

No, you were never a Fredhead, because real Fredheads are confident that Fred is going to officially declare soon.

but I’m sick of this. This isn’t a game, Mr. Thompson. Run or get the hell out of the way.

WAAA! WAAA!

Settle down, Ron. After Labor Day is when people start paying attention in a campaign that has already gone on way too long.

Good evening. I am here tonight to announce my intention to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. <<

3. It almost sounds like you have some other candidate.
Which is fine, of course.

Chill out...you must have missed this story:

LOS ANGELES - If Fred Thompson makes it official and throws his hat in the ring for President, NBC will pull future reruns of "Law & Order" featuring the actor after Sept. 1, executive producer Dick Wolf said yesterday.Wolf, reading from an official NBC statement yesterday, said the rule applies when a person legally qualifies as a candidate.

"If Fred Thompson formally declares his intention to run for President, NBC will not schedule any further repeats of 'Law & Order' featuring Mr. Thompson beyond those already scheduled, which conclude on Saturday, Sept. 1," Wolf said. Wolf assured that NBC would take all "appropriate steps consistent with FCC regulations." Thompson fans would, however, be able to see him in reruns airing on TNT.

NY Daily News

He will announce after Sep 1st, announcing before that would have not only been against FCC regs, but would have cut royalties for the rest of the cast of L&O.
