There’s a good chance of this being challenged in court. The constitution says that state legislatures will decide how to allocate electoral votes. It may not be legal for voters to decide instead of the legislature.

Yep. Same would have happened had the Dems succeeded in getting this on the ballot in Florida.

There’s a good chance of this being challenged in court.

And it would be the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that would hear it, too.

I don't believe the Constitution is so specific as to preclude a referendum (which we do have here in CA). I'll have to look up the specific language used.
