After the apology we can move toward reconciliation...

My observations have been that after the apology to the NAACP comes the shakedown...

Oh, I thought all the black leaders were coming out in rage over seeing Secretary of State Rice portrayed as a monkey in various cartoons.

That’s right, you can be a racist SOB good for nothing bum and slander black women if they are conservative. OK, never mind.

Some people can’t handle reality.

The Muslims were probably offended because they thought that the cartoon depicted Mohammed. Or at least, who Mohammed would be if he were alive today.

Well, that demand just got that cartoon about 100,000 new pairs of eyes. Me included.

Just saying.

“Pull up your pants, get an education, marry your women and raise your kids.”

Now THAT belongs on a t-shirt!

“Is the deal today that you can say or do the most outrageous things, but as long as you apologize later, everything is hunky-dorie?’

Up to a point, beyond which a stint in faux-rehab is required. In extreme cases, tearful blatherings of “I have failed you my lord,” may be attempted.

“A whore goes to the complaint department and says, ‘I’m being compared to a rapper.’”

That sounds like a Ziggy.

But rap music is free expression of the black experience while this cartoon is racist hate speech.
(Sarcasm alert)

Rap is CRAP.

“Staying alive comes to mind.”

That’s quite an incentive!

“An editorial cartoon in last Friday’s Florida Times-Union depicting a gunman wearing a T-shirt saying “Don’t Snitch” continues to draw criticism, with some black leaders calling for an apology, the firing of the cartoonist and other demands, according to a WJXT-TV report in Jacksonville.”

Where were these sanctimonious pieces of trash when Condi was racially attacked the same way?

Bad guys who rap don’t say things like that when they’re not recording a Grammy-winning track?

It is ridiculous to think firing this cartoonist and getting an apology is the real issue and not the point of the cartoon. The problem is Stop Snitchin’, the problem is not this cartoonist or the editors of the paper. Black leadership are idiots!

Exactly! These bozos can’t see (or choose not to) that rap music is a vile influence on inner city areas. This is the behavior and language that it promotes.

Dear Rev. Rudolph McKissick Jr. and the Jacksonville Leadership Coalition,

I am sorry....that your are too stupid to understand the point of the cartoon.

I am sorry that you have saved your righteous indignation for a political cartoonist that hit a little too close to home for your comfort.

I am sorry that a once proud and just civil rights movement has been hijacked by a bunch of money grubbing quota pimps and race hustlers....

Thank you Bill Cosby for the courage to speak out. Peer pressure and an absence of direction will doom many youngsters to unproductive lives.
