Maybe they can go back far enough to prevent Mohammed from happening.

Not the first thread on this. Must be somebody developed a time machine and planted a thread in the past. BTW, nobody will travel back to before time machines were first built.

If time travel were EVER to be possible, we’d know it by now...

The trouble is leaping back to your own time.

Time travel research is based on bending space-time so much that time lines actually turn back on themselves to form a loop, technically known as a "closed time-like curve."Go ahead. Give it a try. Make sure your life insurance is paid up here first though.

A new concept for a time machine could possibly enable distant future generations to travel into the past, research now suggests... They should be arriving any minute now, I reckon.

I was just playing around with my time machine today.
I wanted to go back to 1992. That was a pivotal year. Remember? George Bush was re-elected. Think of what that caused. The Muslims bombed the World Trade Center the next year and killed a handful of people.
Fortunately, Bush had all his army divisions available, and basically bombed and battered the fledging Al-Qaeda organization back to nothing. They’ve hardly bothered us at all since then.
Anyway, I went back to 1992 and nothing happened. Actually, I did see Ross Perot and mentioned “hey, with your money, I bet you could run for president!” I’m sure nothing came of that.
