Ba’athists have been more pragmatic secular than most over there. Their association with Alqaida was possible only because Alqaida is also secular if not pragmatic.

Amazing! Iraq’s banned Baath party joins the US Coalition fighting for Iraqi freedom, peace, and democracy and establishes a stronger stand against Al Qaeda than Senator Reid(D-NV), Speaker Pelosi(D-CA), the Democrat Party, their International commie ANSWER and Code Pinko cohorts.

We should keep the hand clapping down to a minimum until this news is verified via other sites. MNF web site would be a real plus in the verification process.
Soooo, old Izzat must have run out of monies to support his part of the insurgency. He must realize the IG cannot just give him a free pass. Or can they?
Will piss off one hell of a lot of Shia that had loved ones die under Saddam. But I hope it is verified. Sure could put the final nails in the coffin for AQIR. Along with a lot of other groups that have taken part in the insurgency.
Al-Douri had a lot of bucks that where moved to Syria that have supported various elements of the insurgency.
Wonder if he ends up turning himselve in if, some of the little lion's Intel and secret police will end up being exposed for their part in the insurgency.

IMHO the Baathists from Syria are probably negotiating with the Iranians on partitioning Iraq. Since the RATS are going to try and go in this direction, it makes sense.

FYI--I haven't seen this on Drudge yet.....
If only this was true, and the election was this November, there wouldn't be a democrat left standing.
