Drunk driver’s immigration status not “irrelevant” to grieving mother
MichelleMalkin.com ^ | 08/22/02207 | Houston Chronicle

Felinda Williams couldn’t make herself go to court on a recent morning, couldn’t bring herself to look at the man accused of driving drunk and killing her daughter, her son-in-law and her 2-year-old grandson.

She knows few details of the Aug. 11 crash in Houston that killed the newlyweds and the little boy nicknamed “Peanut Butter.” She does know that her daughter didn’t die on impact. The young woman, according to reports, felt the flames and begged helpless bystanders to pull her free.

The grieving woman knows two things about Juan Felix Salinas, the man charged in connection with their deaths: She knows his name, and she knows he was in the U.S. illegally, out on bail after an earlier arrest.

“He’s been through the courts and the jail before, and nobody caught it,” Williams said. “If they’d caught it, he would have been in jail or deported, and then he wouldn’t have been out there on the streets, and my babies would still be alive.”

Makes you kind of wish the Punisher was a real guy.
At least for me anyways.

Here’s my standard post.

RICO —Citizen Recourse

Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits.

RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens like this jerk.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.

I wonder if lawsuits against the federal government would help. The Fed is not doing enough to secure the border and their negligence contributed to these deaths.

I saw Tancredo on FNC this morning, explaining that the cities etc who instruct their LE to NOT discover the legal/illegal status are liable in cases like this. It has been discussed with a bunch of lawyers, and the general consensus is that civil suits against the offending municipalities can be won. Large judgements such as those won by those who claim profilng, police brutality, etc will quickly change the attitudes of officials and citizens of such municipalities.

This case might well become the first in this regard.

“I wonder where is Geraldo on this one ??”

He would probably accuse anyone against illegal immigration of trying to turn Juan Felix Salinas into the next Willie Horton.

Unimaginable greif. How does one deal with this?

Due to illegal aliens, Texas is #1 in DUI arrests and DUI related deaths.

No breakdown on race or nationality of the accused of course.

The fact that Geraldo makes every aspect of immigration and border control into a race issue calling everyone who supports enforcing our immigration/border laws a racist tells me that Geraldo is a racist. He can’t even support enforcing building code and zoning laws in NYC if the tenants happen to be illegal aliens because it’s “racist” yet he has no problem if those laws are enforced on citizens.

Well why should there be? It's not like the government keeps anally precise racial stats on every other aspect of life, is it?

I imagine he’s supporting the poor ILLEGAL. Too bad it hasn’t happened to one of his family members—he might feel differently.

I would not want to be in any of our so-called leaders shoes, as I would imagine there are more than a few thousand out there that would like to hold them *directly* responsible for this violent invasion.

Forget about it, its been tried before the feds have immunity. Now the sanctuary cities OTOH could be liable because their actions directly go against federal law.

Many states have been forced to keep track of race in traffic stops and DUI arrests because of lawsuits by groups like the ACLU and NAACP. The stat tracking is to prevent “racial profiling” traffic stops and arrests and searches.
So yes, there is a reason.
