WASHINGTON (CNN) Did she or didn't she?
That's the question some political observers are asking about recent comments from Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, that could be interpreted as a swipe against her husband's chief presidential rival Hillary Clinton.
In Atlantic, Iowa last Thursday, Michelle Obama pointed to the strength of her own family and said the next president must be "somebody that shares our values."
"Is he somebody that respects family? Is he a good and decent person?" Michelle Obama asked the crowd about the next president. "Our view is that if you can't run your own house, you certainly can't run the White House."
The comments went largely unnoticed until an article in Tuesday morning's Chicago Sun Times suggested the statement was an indirect swipe against the Clintons, whose previous marital problems have been well documented.

Who cares? They’re both jerks married to jerks. How Hitlery or Obama Osama Hussein could possibly see the White House in their future is an insult to America.
Mrs. Obama, you really need to get your hubbie to reconsider all that Secret Service protection. You never can tell when one of the members of your detail might be a deep-cover friend of She Who Must Not Be Named.
Perhaps you should revisit that offer from The Minister Farrakhan? After all, it’s not the content of your character, it’s the color of your skin...
Indeed it is, hopefully the electorate will wake up and realize it..
Does America want a Doormat for President??
This statement terrifies the clinton War Room.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Of course not. And when hubby suggested that kindergartners get sex ed, he was only suggesting that so they could be protected from the pervs. Can we say backpedaling?
you know some people may want to check out FR while at work...
Some good questions for Mrs. Obama would be: Do you believe that Mrs. Clinton and her husband respect “family”? Do you believe that the Clintons are “good and decent people”? Do you believe that they have and are currently running their own house well?

this won’t work on democrats
Mrs. Obama swipes candidates? Is Mrs. Obama referring to Sen. Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani in recent remarks about family values?

I'm assuming you are being sarcastic.
She took a swipe, everyone knows she took a swipe and everyone is trying as delicately as possible to suggest she took a swipe.
If I were her, I would go on a full scale attack, even go so far as call her a plantation owner. Force Hillary to defend herself for once.
If she was caught alone in a room with that horndog goober, she probably did have to pop him.
horndog goober—great name for a band.
And so what if Michele Obama DID take a swipe at the clintins. Mrs. Obama hit the nail on the head didn’t she? Maybe all the talk about it is because Mrs. Obama hit very close to home. Hey hilllereee...if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen and make room for a real leader.
Yes it is, but our lead singer, an Elvis look-alike, just passed away from advanced cirrhosis, AIDs complications, and a really nasty skin disease.
A mutual friend has suggested you for a replacement - swears that nobody will notice the difference - and so if you're interested.........;D
Does anyone have a full transcript of her speech/comments?
On CNN’s board several LIBS have suggested it was aimed at Guliani.
What is clear is that she was berating SOMEONE otherwise the statement has absolutely zero meaning.
