As I understand it, Nugen was a bad boy in his younger days, particularly, as to his womanizing. But then again I’m from his generation and I think a lot of us from that era were somewhat morally bereft back then (I’m talking 60’s 70’s). Thankfully, many of us have grown up since then. Looks like Ted has.
Ya know....I guess I’m gettin too old. Every time I see a picture of our guys like that I get choked up. I often wonder where we find such good youngsters? I hope that I never run into anyone that would spit on one of our people in an airport or any place else. I’m just old enough that I wouldn’t care if I got into trouble for pouncing on them a time or two. You gotta love our guys and ladies in uniform. Thank God we have them.

If he had been a draft dodger, he has long made up for that mistake with his actions in support of America and troops.
As I pointed out in another post, the actions that he has taken in defense of America and our troops makes up for prior actions. I don’t think it is germaine to the discussion. In fact, it is only a tactic to discredit a very honorable great American!
Agreed. Toby Keith is a great American. I just don’t know why he leans liberal. Have you seen the video for his new song? I’m sorry but as much as I like Toby, I admit that I am suspicious of people who use the “peace” symbol. He confuses me.

The hippies are just those that got stuck in the ‘60s and their kids who are now adult. Just like in the ‘60s they are infecting the new generation with their idea that peace is better than freedom, and that favorite commie slogan “war is not the answer”. Ask one of them what peace is and they can’t answer. They put out erroneous body count too because they don’t care about lies. They are disgusting and dangerous.
Did you get the name of the group that was protesting? They have no respect for people’s time off. What the heck were they doing at the Air & Water Show? Wonder what they will do after President Bush leaves the WH.
I have been getting 'choked up' about our military men & women since I was in grade school. I was raised with a number of family heros to look up to and emulate as I grew.
On my bookshelf is a flag in a case, folded in the 'cocked hat' of a warrior. The stars are made from khaki because silk was a war need at the time. It belongs to my grandfather, who gave his all in Western Europe.
These words form Nugent are what make being a 'patriot' a bad word for the liberals, and the hard thumping in our chest for the rest of us.
My guess is the signs were confined to a specific area similar to local elections when candidates have their signs tacked to the same structure. One guy walking had a black T-shirt with faces of various White House members and a slogan that read "Wanted for Murder" or something like that.
Oh, I’m familiar with ANSWER alright. They are one of the most dangerous and destructive organizations on the planet, not just in America. Anyone who thinks otherwise should do a little investigation.
I’ve seen plenty of nasty Lefty t-shirts including the one you mentioned. They are just as disgusting as the people who wear them. Morons all! It was a good thing for them that I wasn’t running the show, because I wouldn’t have let them or any other political group have a presence.
