My wife is third grade teacher. Last year there was a little Mexican boy across the hall from her that couldn’t speak a word of English. This was the third year there, and they promoted him that year like all the rest.
He won’t get a pass because of Katrina here.
I went to a Walmart near NW Jackson.
It was a very colorful place.
Red Necks, Blue Gums and Wet backs.
I agree. Haley better come out strong against illegals, or those words you posted by Eaves in post #7 will sound mighty good to Mississippi voters.
People are just plain tired of the illegal problem and want some action taken to stop it.
Haley has done much good along the way, but the illegal issue is near the top of the list for many people.
If the coast was to wallow un-rebuilt, we would end up having to support 10s of thousands. Our economy would tank due to the load and reduced tax base.
I am sorry you have had bad experiences with our “non indigenous” Latin population, but don’t blame Barbour for the failures in education, the lousy American work ethic among the labor class due to entitlements and such and the fact the border is open. Get those things fixed and get back to me about Haley.
As far as keeping his job, Eaves has a snow ball in hell shot. If you want to vote for him over this one issue, vote for the “Democrat” who is running against Barbour by trying to be Barbour, go ahead.
The rest of us will look out for Mississippi...
