And whats wrong with Israel ? It is under constant threat of terror, but those people are willing to fight terrorism rather than surrender. The price of freedom they pay is extreme, but it is a noble and honorable way to live. India’s official state policy of appeasing terrorists and turning the other cheek to terrorism, will keep devaluing the lives of her own citizens in future.

US doesnt live in the same neighbourhood as India does.

How much sucess has Israel had with respect to stopping funding of Hamas & Islamic Jihad-which comes from the likes of the UAE & Saudi Arabia(both US allies).It’s easy to go after the likes of the Palis & Hizbollah,because they are non-entities who are a pain in everyone’s rear-end.
Like it or not,India doesn’t have America’s blessings to take on the Pakis-the onus of escalation rests with the Pakis.The last time Vajpayee tried to hit them,the US navy parked itself in the Arabian Sea & the US state dept issued travel advisories,which led to the stock markets plummeting.
About the US example,well how easy is it for a terrorist(most likely to be Arab or North African or maybe from the subcontinent) to sneak into the US without suspicion & then go about planning & implementing a strike.The fact is that Racial differences work in the favour of US agencies.Not so back in India.The only way you can identify a Muslim at a checkpoint is probably by unzipping him.You’d probably have to unzip a huge number of Muslims too-that will piss off a LOT of people,which will in effect kill anti-terrorism measures for a full decade.
America’s population is about a 3rd of India’s,but it has almost 2.5 policemen for a thousand people.India has barely one.That makes policing & intelligence gathering a far more difficult affair.Even if political will,vision & policy all gel together,it will take a decade at the least to see results on a large scale in India.
