The article is decent, but the comments section is priceless and a must read...

I agree wholeheartedly; I expected a lot of bashing from the lefties, but most comments were surprisingly supportive of the author's major points. I still don't know whether to laugh or cry about the following:

----------

Perhaps we should all become more christian in our approach. I don't mean that in its religious sense, no way would I advocate a return to mindless superstition, but in its social sense. Teach good honest modern social christian values, they actually are not that bad. Just keep god and all the other divine nonsense out of it. Use the golden rule as the basis for the development of a more humane society. Evangelise consideration for others as a great virtue rather than focusing on human rights.

----------

Hmmmm...divorcing moral teachings from their basis and source has proven SO successful throughout history. At least this person seems well-meaning, if completely ignorant, unlike the "progressives" who think that if we try atheistic communism just one more time it could finally work.

Now that is sad, sort of like a Dr telling their patient what the problem is, and how to cure it, but suggesting that the treatment is not right for them.

And that is part of the Uk’s problem, the Muslims have no such ambiguity to their world view.

And it is sad, sort of like removing the stomach and still expecting it to function.
