The only question is how will India respond, for India cannot let this go without a response. And I, for one, would not expect India not to respond. The only question is how will India respond, for India cannot let this go without a response. And I, for one, would not expect India not to respond.

And what will the US do if India goes after Pakistan? What will Pakistan do?

The Islamists are currently alone, but if they can trick India into going to war against Pakistan, then by default Pakistan will join the war on the side of the Islamists.

This would be seen as a net gain by the terrorists.

Ergo, the terrorists have a great incentive to make India mad (at Pakistan’s expense).
