According to the CBP's website:
The priority mission of the Border Patrol is preventing terrorists and terrorists weapons, including weapons of mass destruction, from entering the United States. Border Patrol Agents patrol nearly 6,000 miles of international land border with Canada and Mexico and nearly 2,000 miles of coastal border. Undaunted by scorching desert heat or freezing northern winters, they work tirelessly as vigilant protectors of our Nation's borders.
From the Border Security page.
It says nothing about drugs or illegals. I am sure it was written by Bush or Sutton.

“I want a secure border, but I want more common sense,” Salinas said, adding that the fence would affect relations with Mexico.
////////////// Thanks for your link from “The Streets of Laredo".
This imbecile does that the purpose of the fence is to affect relations with Mexico.

Well Carlos, what is the mission then? Sounds like it’s time to review the METL and come up with a new mission. BTW, Mitt, Fred, Rudy or John won’t fix this if they’re elected...neither will Sam.

Morning Bannie,
He is one of the major problems in controllng the border. Jorge’s compadre’ is an enabler and a pourous border sieve that allows the illegals criminals access to the USA to commit crimes against Americans.
He should be terminated immediately for dereliction of duty and a accessory to criminal illegal immigration.
Bush will promote this whorealdoresque POS.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again," Carlos X. Carrillo, Border Patrol chief of Laredo, Texas, told guests at a town-hall meeting Thursday. "The Border Patrol's job is not to stop illegal immigrants. The Border Patrol's job is not to stop narcotics. ... The Border Patrol's mission is not to stop criminals.
"The Border Patrol's mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country."
Hard to believe that he accidentally omitted the word "primary" three times. Including the word "primary" would make it "The Border Patrol's primary mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country...." etc.
Even if he had included the word primary, though, how do you stop terrorists if your job is not to stop illegals?

Well I be damned, then Mr. Carrillo who's dang job is it to stop illegal aliens.
I suspect that Mr. Carrillos appointment to his current job was more motivated by political correctness and diversity than by commonsense and qualifications.
This man must be fired immediately or demoted to some back pasture station to serve out until his retirement.
Do you hear that Michael Jerktoff.

"Youd be surprised, more likely shocked, to find out how many Hispanics are against illegal immigration." I imagine a lot of the adult Hispanics who fought to become a citizen of the USA would be against illegal immigration but what about the Adult anchor baby Hispanics?

No surprise that Carrillo backpedaled. In which statement was he being more truthful, the town meeting or his "clarification?"
Carillo's "clarification"

CarrilloIt would be interesting to investigate where the money in his bank account is really coming from, and how big it is.

Yep, that is what he said in Zapata. We attended a community Border Patrol meeting for the area (which is in the Laredo sector)on August the 7th.
We(Mike and I) thought it a very strange comment to make. And needless to say,it was upsetting.
He (Carrillo) also had the nerve to tell a women that we should be sleeping better in our homes because of the increase in BP agents for that area.
Bunch of Bravo Sierra is what it is.
I begged to differ with Carrillo as did Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez.
Wonder what our govt is up to now?

“End the failed war on some drugs?”
“war?” what war?
you haven’t failed at what you haven’t tried...
Give me 20 years as Drug Czar and there would be virtually NO illegal drugs in U.S.A. If Japan can do it, so can America. Be prepared to double the prison capacity, National Guard on both borders, double the size of the Coast Guard on three coasts and build two walls, one on each border. Deport every illegal alien including the incarcerated and every foreign muzzie in America.
