After all Sarko has accomplished in just 100 days, including ending the miserable state of French relations with the US , I think we can be confident this is no ordinary politician.
He has come through so far on his promises, and obviously the French approve, so why should we be encouraged and optimistic?
As a Le Figaro article in the same edition says, the French people know Sarkozy wants to change things (or as google translates it, "The man of the promised rupture") and they support change.
I think we'll see when the universities get back from holiday.
