“the art of implementation is where America is failing the most. Therefore, we need a new way of talking and a new way of walking.”
Yes, and the only way to accomplish that is to educate children. This generation has been brought up on slippery Dr. Spock ethics - hence the spineless and directionless Republican politicians in our government.
If we inculcated in the children the “minor adjustments” of the last forty years while maintaining the fundamental values that make America already the greatest nation on earth, we would raise a generation of politicians with some ethics, with principals that guide them to come through on campaign promises because their word is their most precious possession.
That would contrast starkly with todays crop of pathetic politicos, including our Mexican-American President..
I watched that conference on CSPAN. I don’t recall any panelist that I would consider remotely conservative. Perhaps it’s all relative.
They should be but apparently not enough of them are.....
It is the Black communities that are failing America, not the other way around.
There are an awful lot of great sounding platitudes in that article, but I find no specifics. What exactly have the black churches done that has been successful in strengthening communities? What strategies can conservatives adopt from them to win political support in the black communities? I would like to know this, as it seems a mystery. Probably no conservative ever had as much support from the black church leaders as Rick Santorum; yet he got clobbered at the polls last year. Too many black voters seem to be permanently brainwashed by the Jesse Jacksons of the world. If they see an (R) after the name they are not voting for him or her. Period.
Amen
