This is a long laundry list of Thompson's accomplishments and shortcomings. Thompson Bots would be well to be aware of the NYT's take on Thompson since they shortly will be hearing similar complaints from the left.
In the meantime, it seems prudent to remember that as Alfred Adler once said, "9/10 of the world is the way you see it and 1/10 is the way it is." The subjectivity of experience plus confirmation bias makes for a difficult effort to see things clearly.
