That is right up there with the Reuters pic of a Russian Artillery Round (unfired) being called a remnant of a U.S. missle with two Afghani villagers poised by it.

I expect only a camera and tripod were covered with the muzzle.
No foul. Though I will admit, it is a tad disconcerting.
