What stands out to me, is the honesty of Mr. Hunter. He could easily have given them all the emotional pablum they sought, yet suggested something that would bring them a large measure of self-satisfaction (something the Hillary crowd wants to subdue in order to continue to hustle their votes) instead.
Duncan Hunter showed them respect and they rejected it.
