Anytime a professional team want the tax payers (their fans) to do more than fill the stadium, it’s time to let them leave.
Do you remember the nightmare that Spanos (and the politicians of San Diego) visited on the taxpayers of “America’s Finest City” when the Chargers couldn’t fill the seats. We were stationed in Oceanside at the time, and OMG, if I had been a California resident at that point, I think I may have actually hurt someone. And I believe, IMO of course, that it had all come about because what Spanos really wanted was to move the team.
