Ford family has long flexed political clout in Memphis
Harold Ford, Sr. is soley responsible for the mess we have in Memphis. In 1991, he called a racially exclusive confab to find a nominee for mayor to beat incumbent Richard C, Hackett. The ONLY criteria in that meeting was to, in Sr’s own words, was to find a candidate “WHO LOOKS LIKE US”. EVERYONE in the city of Memphis knew what that meant. Willie Herenton won by 142 votes. Since then, Memphis has been going down the tubes. And since then, the Fords and Herenton have hated each other. Harold Sr doesn’t live here any more. He lives in Miami. Even he doesn’t want to deal with the mess he helped create. That’s one example of how much power the Fords have in this city.
John Ford was going to get caught sooner or later. He’s had numerous brushes with the law and always came out smelling like a rose. NOT THIS TIME! He’s now going away for a while. Depending on the outcome of his trial in Nashville later this year, he may not see Memphis until he’s in his eighties or ninties. I sure hope so.
Weren’t the Fords just a bunch of crooks, scimming the public troughs for all they could get? Have I misread the news along the way? Am I mistaken? If so, please set me straight.

Yes you pegged this one, and we still have more serving in various post in elected government to oust...as they all have their fingers in the till...even Harold Ford, JUNIOR isn’t clean...he got caught buying Armani suits with campaign money... a no, no.
