Well said. I care about a person's values. Their precise religious affiliation may be important to God, but not to me. I just have to worry about their politics.
One of the few times she has been right.
That depends on if they are Republican presidential candidates. Always remember Reagan's rule about thou shouldst not speak ill of another Republican, unless he's caught playing footsie in an airport bathroom, or have the last name McCain, or something else really bad like that.
"Under The Banner Of Heaven: A Story of a Violent Faith" by Jon Krakauer is probably the best book I ever read that explains the Mormon faith based on historical research.
To be honest with you, this book isn't flattering to Mormons. You probably can find it in the library, that is what I did...
Mormons are distinct from orthodox, traditional and true Christianity.
Their very ads that you can’t escape on television claim they are “truth restored.”
They are not Christians.
There is no depth to which the self-aggrandizing Mitt Romney won’t stoop in his lust for power.
One day he’s blazing Larry Craig’s endorsement, in which the Senator talked about how he “shares Mitt Romney’s family values,” prominently on his website, and the next he’s kicking him repeatedly on national TV - before his political body was even cold.
No class.
Christians believe there is one Son of God...Christ.
Mormons expand that definition and include all Mormons to be "Sons of God".
That is why orthodox christians do not consider Mormons true christians.
Mormons are not Christian, they’re ‘MORMON’.
MSNBC reported this evening that the Romney web site
removed a video of Senator Larry Craig (who had been heading the Romney campaign in ID). Under the circumstances, that is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
BUT
they also rewrote all press releases that had any mention of Larry Craig to remove the reference, but didn’t change the date of the release or anything else to indicate that they had been edited.
How ingenious of whoever did the editing. Hey, it worked in various editions of the D&C, the Booj o’Mormon (most recently changing “white” to “pure” and delightsome), the First Vision, and in the lesson manual on Teachings of the Prophet Brigham Young.
If it’s good enough conduct for the Lard, then by golly it’s good enough for Romney. Those who conrol the past control the future.
Too bad Google controls the past. :)
ohhhhhh....
Meanwhile, you can watch the mushroom cloud rise from the bomb you just dropped.
Gee, another self-appointed expert on what Mormons believe! Personally, I don't give a rat's rear end what they believe as long as they keep voting like they do. I'm more concerned about being governed by a Baptist like Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter who subscibes to a more popular theology but governs like a Euroweenie nanny-statist.
On the other hand, a Baptist like Duncan Hunter is just about perfect in the brand of governance he proposes.
No.
They have their own saviors and prophets, Young and Smith.
Anyone who takes Olbermann seriously ... he’s simply a propaganda/smear merchant.
Orwell would be proud...
:-) You couldn’t have stated it any better.
Mitt Romney is not a Christian. He’s a Mormon. As a prior poster said, just saying you are something doesn’t mean you actually are that something.
Mormons want to claim they are Christian but they are not. Their Jesus is not the biblical Jesus, rather the fake Jesus of Joseph Smith’s writings. He was not a man who became “a god”, He has always been God and at a point in history, took on human flesh, God in the flesh. Mormons are not trinitarians. As a Christian, I will correct him and any other Mormon on that point using his own style of logic.
ummmm....just males are “sons of god.”
For women you need to be married so that in the afterlife you can be the spirit eve of a new world and give birth to millions and millions of your own spirit children. Can’t get there without a husband, though.
