What principles? Continued destruction of the separation of powers between the states and the national government? All in the name of doing what is 'right'? Last time social 'conservatives' wielded their big stick to pass an Amendment for what is 'right' it was overturned by another Amendment.
Work within your state to change the minds of the public on moral issues. But quit mucking about in Washington to pass some national moral policy
Billbears: Not bad enough that you support an enemy of the United States for POTUS in the GOP contest, no less, but now you are also in favor of continuing "legalized" abortion since neither California nor New York nor a number of other babykilling states will ever voluntarily give up babykilling. The protection of innocent human life will have to be crammed down their throats as they crammed Roe vs. Wade down the throats of our nation.
Ancestor worship of the founders as though they were gods on earth (and clairvoyant gods at that who foresaw Roe vs. Wade and Al Qaeda but just did not care) does not qualify anyone as a conservative.
Nor does preservation of as much babykilling as can be preserved.
Nor does supporting the apologist of the Sharia Law crowd.
Nor does supporting the two-faced "fiscally conservative" king of shrimpin' pork earmarks who demanded their inclusion for other Congressmen to enact while Mr. paleofussbudget poses for holy pictures by voting against the bill containing all of his own earmarks. He makes John Kerry look honest and even a smidgeon patriotic. Well, not patriotic.
Paleowhateverism is, was and always will be a rank fraud to the extent that it purports to have anything whatsoever to do with actual conservatism as you guys are surely about to find out in spades when the caucuses, primaries and actual voting convenes. Tick, tick, tick....and Dr. Demento's fifteen minutes are up.
Each individual slaughtered baby is infinitely more valuable than any and all paleo fussiness over their Dr. Demento views of the constitution. AND, BTW, the 14th Amendment (part of the constitution in case you may not have heard) fully justifies Congressional action to wipe out abortion nationally and, to the extent necessary, overrides any paleo fussiness based on the noble Tenth Amendment which seems to be noticed nowadays only by abortion defenders, intentional or otherwise.
That's the same thing I say about Ron Paul. ;)
