To: Stonewall Jackson

I wonder if a Commander’s Coin would mean anything to a man whose son sacrificed himself for his family?

I don’t think we give military awards to civilians, but there are a lot of other awards that can be given...

The loss would still hurt, but at least something like this would show them that we mourn the death of such a valant man and acknowledge his sacrifice.

A Commander's Coin, in a nice display case, that is presented by a senior officer in a ceremony (public or private, at the family's preference) would be a nice gesture on America's part.
