The Cassandra in the link was sort of a 'good guy,' who others didn't believe.
My “group” is whites of European descent. It is the same group that is attacked day in and day out by the liberal media. Conservative whites try to stop the downward slide to some extent from this bombardment. Liberal whites self-sacrifice their pride and dignity by adding to the bombardment because their of guilt for events which they never participated. I am part of the most hated group in human history. We are the only group in America taught not to have pride in our history or ourselves. Members of my group started this country, overwhelmingly fought every major war, saved the world twice, ended slavery, wrote the Constitution and is now seen as almost sub-human to most liberals and a growing number of minorities. Ring any bells for you now?

That there is the truth. When I am out and about and I see all the illegals, yeah, I get angry about the here and now but, I actually get sickened by the thought of what my kids are going to be forced to put up with. It’s just wrong. We’ve doomed our kids future.
For years we’ve been trying to reverse the horrible effects of the welfare state only to import it 10 fold for our children. Study after study shows the children of illegals DO NOT do well in school, even after a generation. The girls are now taking the lead as far as teenage illegitimate pregnancy goes. They are notorious for forming gangs in middle school and then dropping out. Our kids are doomed.
Racism goes both ways. Teenagers are not stupid, they see whats going on. These illegal kids have a sense of entitlement My kids tell me about the Mexican kids all the time. We have pep rallies during football season, my sons told me that they have had near riots because the Mexican kids bring their Mexican flags and are disrespectful and then there is the huge problem with the black kids.

Every other day somebody is claiming doom and gloom for Mexico. Usually these are people who know little or nothing about Mexico.
Mexico is doing just fine. The corruption levels are dropping drastically as Calderón is using the whip. There have been issues and battles with police in some areas, but this has primarily been because the federal government was cracking down on corrupt police and gangs. Calderón maintains incredibly high approval ratings and the economy of Mexico is becoming freer. Mexico is one of the largest economies in the world and their economy is reasonably diversified for a Latin American country, contrary to popular opinion. As far as Latin American countries, only Chile is doing better in my opinion. It is useful to remember that the socialists got hammered hard in the last election and that today the adults are in charge.
You might think this is contrary to the massive immigration problems. And you might think that Mexicans are fleeing from dire poverty. This is not true. It is just that people make decisions at the margins. And when they see that they could do untrained labor in the US for four times as much as they make it is easy to think about illegally crossing the border.
Lawyers always litigate the letter of the law and all of our legistlation is entered in only one language. The translation is not the same thing.
Good point. I grew up in the Southwest, so I understand basic Spanish conversation, even though I've lost track of verb tenses over the years. I mostly get "God bless you!'s" as a march through the Wal-mart with my 8 kids :-).
On the other hand, when my mother and I were in Amsterdam a few years ago, Europeans made sure they made their rude remarks about Americans in English.
And when he or she pledges a house in college, their fingers won’t get burned!!
(We used to have to recite the Greek alphabet in the time it took for a kitchen match to burn. I can still do it today! It’s one of those things that just sticks with you!!)
