“Because learning another language is good for you. Be glad it isn’t Greek. Spanish at least uses more or less the same alphabet.”

We’re not interested in learning the language of those coming to do:

“the jobs Americans won’t do”.

We have higher aspirations.

Ours is learning Mandarin and Latin. Latin is great for word roots - ENGLISH - that is and known to be helpful for SAT scores. Mandarin, hey China is a powerhouse. Laready have four years of oral and written completed. She's been over to Asia and it has been very useful and she's under age 10. NO SPANISH speaking country has EVER amounted to anything impressive and it’s not changing anytime soon.

Spain would argue with you.

And China is going to be coming apart at the seams soon.

You would be better off learning Hindi.

Latin is good for a number of reason. She will have a much easier time with any science or legal class because of it.

It has been apparent since the 1930s that political philosophies comprise a closed circle...
‘National’ Socialists (i.e., nazis, fascists, socialists) are Totalitarians.
‘International’ Socialists (i.e., Communists, U.S. style Liberals, Progressives, ‘Social’ Democrats) are Totalitarians.
Both ‘National’ and ‘International’ Totalitarians are on the bottom of the circle, shoulder to shoulder.
They are the same.
Free individuals are on the top of the ‘circle’ and will always rise to the top.

Look at history.

The originator country of Spanish was a major power, which is why Spanish now the third most used language after English.

And being impressive is not very relevant. There is a lot of trade and business to be done in Latin America, and Spanish could help with that.

You forgot the original Spanish speaking country, Spain. I think it’s done a few things here and there, like, I dunno... discovering America?
