With all due respect, please shut up.

Doing CAIR's work for them? You know, just because the military allows these Iraqis to train Marines doesn't mean any of the Marine honor rubs off on them.

Grow up. They did it on purpose.

One of them said: "How can we be bad if we are helping our people here - American people? Why are we getting treated like that?" he was quoted as saying by ABC7 Chicago.

There will probably be another "Imam Lawsuit" or maybe it was just another dry run.

And to top it off, Defense Training Systems, International Logistics Services Corp., pays them with taxpayer money.

The naive among us say, "They apparently are doing more for our cause and our troops than the vast majority of Americans."

When are Americans going to wake up.

They should be on their way home to Iraq to fight for their country.

They ARE fighting for their country, albeit in a different way. They are helping US soldiers who are being taught the skills to deal with terrorists.

This story reads to me like some passenger just heard the Arabic language and jumped the gun, assuming that just because they were speaking the language, they were terrorists. If the Iraqis were not doing anything more provocative than speaking to each other, shame on that passenger.

As it is somewhat understandable, then maybe they should be wearing visible government ID.

I thought that was discouraged. When the better half was active duty he was instructed to dress civilian but wear his dogtags under the shirt. Past history has shown that in the event of a hostage situation, they frequently kill the soldiers they see first.

I did stop reading there. Why waste time on reading further when you started out with something that reveals you to be devoid of thought?

Then they should have "avoided the appearance of impropriety" by speaking English and acting in a way to avoid suspicion.

Frankly I think it is rude for Americans to insist that people from other countries, during PRIVATE conversations, speak English, a language that is foreign to them. If I'm Italian, and I'm with other Italians, I'll probably speak Italian. No law against that. Now, if I were in some business establishment in America, trying to purchase something, I should have enough command of the language to make myself understood, but this was not the case.

According to the story, these Iraqi men were doing nothing more than speaking to each other in their native language; the one that is most comfortable to them. It was some other passenger who got unruly because of his own fear.

When you do the work of CAIR in trying to quash discussion of what gives the appearance of another dry run you should be prepared to be called on it.

If the talk it too rough for you just imagine what it sounds like in Arabic on an airplane as you find seats for your children.

When you do the work of CAIR

Telling you you're ignorant -- a fact borne out by your posts on this thread -- is not "doing the work of CAIR."

Have a nice day.

Go put your own children on this plane and we’ll see what you believe.

“...SPEEK ENGLISH...”

Hilarious irony of the day.

We'll all have to assume a lot here, since none of us was there. I'll assume that, since they were helping the Marines, they had some knowledge of English. Enough to say to the panicked passenger "Dude, we're the good guys!"

That having been said, there is a culture of fear in flying in America today. Ask me...I flew about 8,000 miles earlier this summer, and I was so scared to annoy anyone that I wouldn't even take out my knitting needles! So, see, I took steps to make sure no one was "askared" of me (I'm one of those people who are always on the "list"- a little granny (ok, a hippy granny, but I knit!) So I would like to think that ME men especially would take care to only present a positive front to their fellow passengers. It's the perception that counts, not the reality.

“They should have had a REAL Marine...”

So people that speak languages other than English when conversing with their companions or who look “foreign” should have a military escort when traveling in the US? Wow.

“...they should be wearing visible government ID.”

Let me warm up the printer. One fake ID coming right up! Better yet, how about we have them sew some identifier onto their clothes; let’s see, a yellow six pointed star and pink triangle were taken...

“Look how brainwashed you are.”

Yeah - and while we’re at it, let’s purge America everything and stinkin’ foreigner came up with. Scratch Einstein from your physics book and throw away your Irving Berlin records! Come to think of it, I think it’s about time William Shatner went back to where he belongs!

No, but if they are Iraqi soldiers, and they are put on the plane by the marines, in this climate of Muslim hijackings, don't you think the marines would want the trip to go as smoothly for the Iraqis as possible? And if some passengers overreact, and notice these guys talking Arabic and start trouble with them, or keep pestering the airline crew, it would make sense to have a Marine there to diffuse the situation, right? Or are you still going to disagree and insinuate racism?

>>Sounds like it was another passenger who got unruly. As it is somewhat understandable, then maybe they should be wearing visible government ID. My husband works for a state agency and he wears his around his neck.<<

Why? Why should they have to wear signs?

If arabs are so bad they have to wear signs so we can tell the good ones why are our men and women dying to help them?

We can’t fight for them and also take just being arab and speaking a foreign language as enough reason to complain about them. Something is wrong.

I think your post just said that Americans are so racist that military escorts are needed.

I don’t necessarily agree with that (and maybe you didn’t mean that) but I think that is what your post said.
