WashingtonPost.com ^ | 8/31/07 | Jonathan Weisman

Posted on 08/31/2007 3:18:05 AM PDT by Laverne

The sheets of paper seemed to be everywhere the lawmakers went in the Green Zone, distributed to Iraqi officials, U.S. officials and uniformed military of no particular rank. So when Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.) asked a soldier last weekend just what he was holding, the congressman was taken aback to find out.

Any politician who believes a few days in the IZ (aka “Camp Cupcake”) will provide them with useful and truthful insights is already a deluded fool. But we already said they are politicians, no need to be redundant.

If it’s slimy when it is bounced back, why do they not consider it slime when it comes out of their mouths?

Did anyone read down to this:At one point, the three were trying to discuss the state of Iraqi security forces with Iraq's national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, but the large, flat-panel television set facing the official proved to be a distraction. Rubaie was watching children's cartoons.

I think I would have lost it and shot the damn tv! My guys are dying here A$$hole!

“If it were not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with Iraq,”

I gotta call Brave Sierra on this whopper.

According to Moran, a miracle has happened - America’s Jewish ‘community’ has abandoned the Democratic Party and supported Bush.

One can learn much by carefully contemplating the words of a Democrat. Had it not been for Moran, I would never have known such a thing about America’s “Jewish community”.

At this rate, Moran’s next lesson will be that Bush is also a member of “America’s Jewish community”.

Should I now study Moran instead of Maimonides? Questions, questions.

Petraeus you magnificent bastard!

Soldiers are following the company line, a concept that is all too familiar to the democrats.

In light of the title of the article, may I suggest changing;

“Moron is one of the worst scumbags in DC.”
to
“Moran is one of the worst ‘slimebags’ in DC.”

Respectfully, I suggested changing ‘Moron’ to ‘Moran’, lest this particular moron be lost in the mewling, puking crowd of morons in Congress.

I take their response as an admission from them that what they have been saying about the war is, indeed, "slimey".

Maybe they should shut up totally to keep from being "slimed" again.

The Washington Post’s own “comments section” for this article needs to be slimed. Right now the comments mostly appear to be from Code Pinkos and Clinton State Department holdovers, trashing the admin, the troops, etc., and blaming Rove and Cheney for the bios.

Moran only punches little kids. Real men (and women, too, most likely) would kick his arse if he hit them.

You are correct! US Embassy grounds are best, most comfortable in theatre. As many if not more civillians as military. These VIP guys usually wheel in and out so fast it is funny. I would also venture a guess that most residents know more of the good congress persons history than the general public, with or without flyers.

Moran and fellow a$$holes don’t give a $hit about our guys dying it helps their cause. Maybe the Iraqis knew these POS will denounce anything happening there anyway and gave them the respect they deserve.
