New Jersey Democrats to give away, return Hsu donations
By TOM HESTER Jr. The Associated Press
CAMDEN, N.J. - Gov. Jon S. Corzine, U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg and the New Jersey Democratic Party plan to donate to charity and return money given to them by a top Democratic fundraiser who had been wanted as a fugitive in California.
Corzine and Lautenberg each received $1,000 from Norman Hsu, a New York apparel executive who turned himself in Friday to face a grand theft charge. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he skipped sentencing for a 1991 grand theft charge.
The state Democratic Party has received $49,000 from Hsu since 2005.
Corzine received the money from Norman Hsu in June 2005, when Corzine was a U.S. senator then running for governor.
Corzine said he hasn't decided which charity will get the money.
"I'm just sort of getting caught up on the issue," said Corzine, who returned Thursday from a weeklong vacation in France.

Not PA-Gov. Ed "Spendell", he's said he neither asked for the donation nor was asked for any political favors in return so he's keeping Hsu's money.
$40 large.

Where is the media coverage of this? Why isn't the DOJ issuing a press conference?
To: Sub-Driver
Ohio Democrats, Sherrod Brown, Ted Strickland, and Jennifer Brunner have all announced they are giving back Hsu money too (but not Paw’s money, it seems).

The MSM in this country is nothing but an organ of the DNC. It’s been that way for forty years.

I wonder what favors Hsu got for his donations. Is this being investigated?
To: Sub-Driver
The media gave saturation coverage to the Abramhoff scandals because it involved donations to Republicans. The media will bury this Hsu scandal because it involves ‘Rats. Besides, they gave the money back, anyway, doesn’t that make everything all right? No? Why, you mean-spirited Republicans, you just want to practice “the politics of personal destruction”. Just let it go, move on, you lost, we won, blah blah blah

There's the $1 million that he was convicted of swindling out of some investors, the rest...?
The DoJ needs to look into it. Start with any references to The Lippo Bank, The Lippo Group, Leral, Hughes Electric, Stevens Inc., China Resources, John Huang, Johnny Chung, Charlie Trie, The Riyadis...
They should be familiar with the usual suspects.

I’d like the names of the “charities” that are going to be willing to accept this stolen money. I always figured that charities were more honest than politicians.

What is interesting is in just three days the number of recipients of this generous funding announcing their intent to return. You know what is said of an iceberg, only 1/10 is visible. Analogous to those who have discarded thier "Hsu's", how many more pair of "Hsu's" are in the back of the closet????

Seems as convenient for them as Bush and the 18-wheelers heading north this weekend.....Ironic that we get bathroom antics to trump them both.....

Do you really believe that’s going to happen?

Some charity that can find a way to funnel it back to him, I bet.

I agree. I’d also advise them to start reading the papers. There’s a nice list of folks returning these funds. I want to know where the funds came from and how these folks got linked to them.
